Sweden-based Iggesund Paperboard has established inventory position and sheeting capabilities in Pomona, California, US, in order to make its flagship product Invercote readily available to the print and packaging market.
The move is in line with the company's plan to expand its distribution network globally and promote its broader service concept, which involves offering its resources and support functions to its existing and potential customers.
This is also expected to boost its service platform outside Europe.
Iggesund Americas president Rickard Österlindh said: "We've been in the US for more than 30 years but our distribution footprint has been concentrated on the east coast.
"Now is the time to increase our presence on the West Coast, where we know there is a density of brand owners who will appreciate the quality level we offer with Invercote."
Iggesund will focus its sales and marketing initiatives on premium packaging and graphical print applications.
Unlike domestically produced paper and paperboard grades, Invercote is manufactured using a multi-layer construction, a process that prevents Invercote from cracking on the fold.
Made from pure virgin fibre sourced from sustainably managed Swedish forests, Invercote is a hygienic and odour and taint neutral product that is approved for food contact according to current regulations.
Iggesund Paperboard has also lauched a Care by Iggesund campaign to promote fast, easy ordering of samples and inspirational materials, product safety information and certificates.
The initiative gives access to Iggesund's accredited laboratory for sensory and chemical analyses.
