Sweden-based Indutrade has completely acquired packaging machinery firm BL Products for an undisclosed amount.

BL Products currently sells and installs packaging machinery, such as molding, filling and sealing machines. It primarily serves customers in the food industry.

Post-acquisition, BL Products will operate as part of Indutrade’s industrial components business area.

The acquisition is expected to marginally increase Indutrade’s earnings per share. It generated around SEK8,831m ($1,233.8m) in sales for the year 2013 and recorded operating income of SEK990m ($138.3m) before depreciation of intangible assets.

The move follows a series of acquisitions made by Indutrade, such as propshaft manufacturer and component distributor Bailey Morris in the UK in August, as well as several other British firms, including Micro Spring and Presswork, and Birmingham Specialities.

Indutrade’s industrial components business area offers a range of components and systems for production and maintenance, as well as medical technology equipment. It primarily provides consumables in the hydraulics, industrial equipment, medical technology, chemical technology, fasteners/electronics/industrial springs, automation, filters and process technology areas.
