Haircare brand Innersense Organic Beauty has collaborated with US-based Plastic Pollution Solutions to develop packaging alternatives as part of its commitment to sustainability.

Both parties will commit to researching, testing and implement new packaging strategies for Innersense Organic Beauty.

The company has made this decision as part of the efforts to minimise its global environmental impact. The brand’s shipping department already uses green and recycled packaging options.

Innersense Organic Beauty founder Greg Starkman said: “We’re making a bold pledge to enlist more viable packaging alternatives. Our line is already packaged in recyclable plastic, but we want to take it a step further as we expand globally.

“As a leader in this space, it’s not only our duty to ensure our packaging is as sustainable as the ingredients within, but we feel we should be a sustainability trailblazer as well.”

According to the haircare company, identifying packaging alternatives is challenging, as it involves maintaining the purity of its products.

Based in Charleston, South Carolina, Plastic Pollution Solutions assists companies in exploring and implementing new solutions to reduce single-use plastics and their environmental impact.

Plastic Pollution Solutions managing principal Lia Colabello said: “We are excited to partner with Innersense Organic Beauty on this heartfelt journey. The search for an alternative to their current packaging will require an innovative approach.

“The team at Innersense Organic Beauty is committed and passionate about this initiative, and we are all eager to embark on this project.”
