Germany based printer manufacturer Koenig & Bauer Group (KBA) will supply its new Rapida 106 double coating press with eight printing units and two coaters to Russian packaging firm Typografia Petchatnja.
With the commissioning of the new Rapida 106 press, Petchatnja looks to expand its main production hall with a further major investment to enhance its packaging production. Scheduled for delivery in May, the new 25m-long press will help the Russian firm to meet the increasing demand of its pharmaceutical packaging business.
Suitable for carton printing and ultraviolet (UV) hybrid operation, the press features automatic plate changing and CleanTronic washing systems that ensure quick job changes during small print operations.
KBA said that the press also features QualiTronic professional inline colour control along with high-resolution full-sheet scanner DensiTronic PDF that compares the printed image with pre-press data for better print quality. The press also has VariDryBlue drying systems designed to reduce energy consumption and an emission extraction system to ensure clean air in the press room.
KBA installed its Rapida 74 with five printing units and a coater for Petchatnja in 2005. Three years later, it supplied its Rapida 105 with six inking units and a coater. In 2011, Petchatnja ordered an installation of Rapida 106 with the same configuration.
