Koenig & Bauer will deliver and install a total of four high-performance series ChromaCUT X Pro machines and two Chroma HighTech series machines as part of this deal.

The ChromaCUT X Pro technology will be equipped at Saica’s facilities in England, Portugal, France, and Italy.

Meanwhile, the Chroma HighTech series will be installed at Saica’s sites across Spain.

All six machines will gradually commence production activities, starting in mid-2024.

Koenig & Bauer Corrugated director Hannah Potrawa said: “Even if the four ChromaCUT X Pro Machines for our partner Saica have partially different configurations, short set-up times through quick job changeover and automation, as well as a simple and intuitive use, were the common, main focus for all the projects.

“Through a perfect cooperation both with Saica and with our colleagues from Italy, we created a diversified overall package.”

According to Koenig & Bauer, the ChromaCUT X Pro-machinery to be supplied to Saica will be partly delivered with a new presettable rotary die cutter and will have the capacity to process a maximum of 2.8 metre (m) wide sheets.

The two Chroma HighTech lines are said to have the capacity to process up to 2.1m-wide sheets.

Both machines will include a series of advanced features such as Zero-Defects technology.

Saica’s latest investment in these six machines builds on its existing partnership with Koenig & Bauer.

The Spanish paper and packaging company is already using Koenig & Bauer’s various machines across its European facilities.

Koenig & Bauer Sales head Luca Celotti said: “It is really a great advantage that we have, at Koenig & Bauer Celmacch, such a wide machinery portfolio with different automation and performance levels. Our customers get in touch with us and they can freely decide which machine model perfectly fits their order structure.”
