With sustainability in mind, the company makes more than 90% of its products using recyclable or biodegradable materials. It aims to achieve 100% sustainability by 2025.

The acquisition is set to enhance Logson’s market presence in Southeast England, UK, and align with its commitment to sustainability.

The group boasts an annual turnover exceeding £400m ($507m) and employs more than 1,300 individuals.

Logson CEO David Richardson said: “Challenge Packaging is a great addition to the Logson family, and we are pleased to have acquired the business allowing us to expand our reach into the Southeast of the country.

“There is a strong correlation between the two organisations in terms of culture, drive, and approach to customers. We are very excited to be able to share expertise and capabilities with the wider Logson Group.”

The acquisition will see Challenge join Logson’s diverse brand portfolio, which includes Cases24, Board24, Jardin Corrugated, Red Rose Packaging, and others.

These brands collectively offer comprehensive corrugated packaging solutions from more than 20 locations throughout the UK.

Following the acquisition, Challenge’s existing management team, including sales director Colin Prior and chair Simon Allen, will continue to lead the company as a standalone entity within Logson.

Allen said: “I am delighted to be involved in the next phase of Challenge Packaging’s development as we progress our future plans.

“Our alignment with The Logson Group ethos serves to strengthen our market position whilst further diversifying our offering as we strive to maintain and grow our reputation as the Southeast’s leading packaging solution provider.”
