US-based thermoplastic resin supplier M Holland has launched a packaging portfolio for the healthcare sector.

The packaging line card features medical-grade resins from the company’s proprietary MH Resolute and Mtegrity Plus resins, as well as from Chevron Phillips, Hanwha, INEOS Styrolution, Invista, LyondellBasell, Plaskolite and TotalEnergies.

It is intended to meet growing demand from medical device and pharmaceutical packaging manufacturers expedited by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition, the portfolio will address supply chain challenges such as material availability and reliability.

M Holland’s Healthcare and Packaging groups will deliver consultancy and other services to clients.

They will also offer access to engineers and packaging specialists who can advise on resin selection to meet regulatory and mechanical requirements.

The portfolio will provide new technologies to improve efficiency, as well as custom compounding services and expert consultation.

Through this, M Holland aims to help clients develop integrated, end-to-end solutions to ensure supply chain security and diversification.

M Holland global healthcare manager Josh Blackmore said: “The medical device and pharma packaging market is a burgeoning segment of the packaging sector, but changing regulatory demands, supply chain security woes, and supply and demand imbalances are creating a complex environment for manufacturers to navigate.

M. Holland has nearly 30 years of experience in film-grade materials for packaging. This new healthcare packaging offering is a natural extension of our medical and food packaging business segments.

“It uniquely positions us to assist clients who are trying to implement changing medical regulations and meet a variety of primary and secondary packaging demands.”

M Holland provides services in areas such as blow and injection moulding and thermoforming, as well as thermoplastic resins and ancillary materials.

Based in Northbrook, Illinois, the company registers more than $1bn in average annual sales and sells to more than 4,000 customers a year.
