Mac Papers has acquired Higdon Paper & Packaging, a Birmingham-based paper and packaging provider, for an undisclosed amount.

Under the terms of the acquisition, the owner of Higdon Paper & Packaging will join as a packaging sales manager for Mac Papers, while the company will also retain some of its employees.

Higdon Paper & Packaging will shut down its facility following the acquisition.

Mac Papers is a distributor of paper and print solutions, as well as packaging materials and equipment.

Pro Mach, an integrated packaging solutions company, has acquired Zarpac, a Canada-based provider of packaging line engineering, integration, and productivity services and solutions.

Continental Timber, a wood products supplier based in Kansas, US, has been acquired by Conner Industries, a lumber processor and integrated packaging solutions provider.

Conner Industries hopes to bolster its market in the Midwest region through the transaction.
