M&As this week: Unilever, Thai Union Group Public Company, Castel Group

Unilever, a multi-national consumer goods company, will acquire Swedish air purification firm, Blueair, to boost its water purification business.

Unilever, a multi-national consumer goods company, will acquire Swedish air purification firm, Blueair, to boost its water purification business.

Following the transaction, Blueair will retain its existing brand name and will continue to operate worldwide including Sweden, China, US, Japan, South Korea and India.

Negocios Industriales Real Nirsa, a canned sardines and tuna producer based in Ecuador, will be acquired by Thai Union Group Public Company.

The Thailand-based firm is engaged in the production and export of frozen and canned seafood.

Danish brewer Carlsberg has entered an agreement with Castel Group to sell its 59% share in Carlsberg Malawi.

According to the terms of the transaction, a licence agreement has been signed between Carlsberg Breweries and Carlsberg Malawi to continue with the sale of Carlsberg in Malawi.

Castel Group is a family-owned beverage company based in France.
