Unipetrol RPA has entered a share purchase agreement (SPA) with Anwil to acquire chemical firm Spolana.

The agreement aims to boost the company’s production and sales.

Unipetrol, an oil distributing company with significant packaging operations, has acquired the Czech-based company for a consideration of €1m ($1.12m).

Westlake Chemical will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Axiall.

The transaction is subject to Axiall’s shareholders approval and customary closing conditions.

Westlake Chemical supplies petrochemicals, polymers and fabricated building products, will acquire Axiall Corp. for a consideration of approximately $3.8bn, which includes the company’s debt and other liabilities.

British Polythene Industries (BPI), a producer of polythene films, will be acquired by RPC Group in a cash-and-share transaction.

RPC Group, a rigid plastic packaging solutions producer and distributor, will purchase the company in a transaction worth £261m ($379.56m).

According to the terms of the acquisition, each BPI shareholder will be paid £4.70 ($6.83) in cash and 0.60141 in new RPC ordinary shares.

RPC Group will secure funds for the cash transaction through a private placement of shares, while its existing revolving credit facility will be used to fund the rest.

E. & J. Gallo Winery has acquired wine seller and producer Orin Swift Cellars in a move to boost its business in the luxury wine segment.

Under the terms of the transaction, E. & J. Gallo Winery will acquire the company’s brand, related inventory, and tasting room.
