Ahlstrom-Munksjo has reached an agreement with KPS Capital Partners to acquire Expera Specialty Solutions for $615m.

Ahlstrom-Munksjo has reached an agreement with KPS Capital Partners to acquire Expera Specialty Solutions for $615m.

Expera Specialty Solutions manufactures speciality paper products for food packaging and pressure-sensitive release liner sectors.

KPS and Expera have engaged Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison as legal counsel, and Deutsche Bank and Barclays as financial advisors for the transaction.

Based in Finland, Ahlstrom-Munksjo is engaged in providing fibre-based materials, while KPS Capital is a US-based private equity firm.

Esko has completed an acquisition of BLUE Software from Diversis Capital and Schawk Digital Solutions.

“Inovar Packaging Group has acquired Topp Labels, a US-based manufacturer of pressure-sensitive prime labels and flexible packaging products.”

The acquisition will enable Esko to deliver improved product packaging, management and execution for the consumer packaged goods, life sciences and retail industries, as well as a variety of suppliers in the packaging value chain.

It will also minimise time-to-market and quality risks in the end-to-end packaging value chain.

Based in Belgium, Esko produces pre-press software and hardware for packaging, labels, signs and displays, as well as commercial printing and publishing industries, while BLUE Software is a label and artwork management software company based in the US.

Diversis Capital is a US-based private equity firm, while Schawk is a global brand production and deployment company.

OptiGroup has completed an acquisition of Packagegroup Moonen after receiving approval from the Dutch Competition Authority.

Based in Sweden, OptiGroup is a business-to-business distributor of a variety of business essentials, while Packagegroup Moonen is engaged in designing, developing and distributing food and non-food packaging, hygiene products, disposables and packaging materials to the retail, food, hospitality and catering industries.

Inovar Packaging Group has acquired Topp Labels, a US-based manufacturer of pressure-sensitive prime labels and flexible packaging products.

The acquisition will help Inovar improve its competencies in the high-end flexographic and digital prime label and flexible packaging solutions market.

Based in the US, Inovar is specialised in the conversion of prime labels, shrink sleeves and flexible packaging products.
