Invernac & Cia has purchased a 7% interest in Valorem for $62m.

Invernac is involved in the manufacturing and marketing of flexible plastic products, while Valorem operates in the real estate, media and entertainment and retail sectors.

Both companies are based in Colombia.

Gomez-Pinzon and Torrado Angarita & Pinzon were appointed as legal advisers to Invernac for the transaction.

Faerch Plast plans to purchase CGL Pack from French packaging and speciality chemical products company PSB Industries Group.

“Expected to be closed in July, the acquisition will strengthen Faerch Plast’s position in the European market.”

The acquisition will provide Faerch Plast with access to CGL’s two manufacturing sites located in Annecy and Lorient in France, as well as CGL’s headquarters in Annecy.

Faerch Plast is a Danish manufacturer of plastic trays for the food industry, while the target company is a UK-based provider of thermoformed packaging solutions for the food, cosmetic and healthcare industries.

Novolex intends to acquire US-based consumer goods company Newell Brands’ Waddington Group for $2.3bn.

Based in the US, Novolex is a provider of paper and plastic packaging products and backed by asset management firm Carlyle Group, while Waddington Group is a manufacturer and supplier of packaging products and disposables for the foodservice, deli and confectionery markets.

The transaction will enable the acquirer company to add Waddington Group’s rigid plastic food packaging and sustainable packaging products to its portfolio as well as accelerate its growth.

Product and process development company Sirane has completed the acquisition of B&G Products for an undisclosed sum.

B&G Products is a manufacturer and seller of reusable bags and pouches.

The acquisition will provide Sirane with access to new markets and expand B&G’s business both in the UK and overseas.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in the UK.
