M&As this week: Macfarlane Group, J.H. Whitney Capital Partners

Macfarlane Group has reached an agreement with John Henry Greenwood to acquire Greenwoods Stock Boxes and 100% issued share capital in the latter’s sister company Nottingham Recycling for approximately £16.75m ($22.74m).

Macfarlane Group has reached an agreement with John Henry Greenwood to acquire Greenwoods Stock Boxes and 100% issued share capital in the latter’s sister company Nottingham Recycling for approximately £16.75m ($22.74m).

Through its fully owned subsidiary Macfarlane Group UK, Macfarlane anticipates the acquisition to increase its earnings from the first full year of ownership.

Both Macfarlane and Greenwoods Stock Boxes manufacture and distribute packaging products and solutions, while Nottingham Recycling provides recycling services.

All the companies involved in the transaction are based in the UK.

Private equity firm J.H. Whitney Capital Partners has acquired Accupac from H.I.G. Capital, a private equity firm.

Accupac supplies outsourced manufacturing and packaging solutions to pharmaceutical and over-the-counter (OTC) personal care product manufacturers.

All the entities involved in the transaction are based in the US.
