Viscofan has completed the acquisition of Transform Pack for $2m.

Based in Spain, Viscofan is engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of artificial and cellulose casings for the meat industry, while Transform Pack is a Canadian company involved in the development of innovative products using value-added technology.

Tomra Group has agreed to purchase BBC Technologies for NZD66.9m ($48.6m).

BBC Technologies will operate as a division of TOMRA Food, following the transaction.

“The acquisition will strengthen Tomra’s grading, sorting and packaging solutions for fresh, packaged and processed foods.”

The company’s precision grading systems and punnet filling systems for blueberries and other small fruits will join TOMRA Food’s fruit inspection and grading technology portfolio.

Based in Norway, Tomra is a provider of sorting and collection systems, while BBC Technologies is a New Zealand-based turnkey solutions provider for sorting, optimising and packing small fruit.

Weener Plastics (WP) Group has acquired Russian bottle manufacturer Artpack for an undisclosed sum.

Based in the Netherlands, WP is a designer and developer of plastic packaging products for the personal care, and food and beverage markets.

Part of the company’s global expansion strategy, the acquisition will strengthen its position in Russia and enhance its integrated plastic packaging solutions.

Scientex Packaging Film, a subsidiary of Scientex Berhad, has agreed to acquire Klang Hock Plastic Industries (KHPI) for RM190m ($48.5m).

Scientex is a provider of flexible plastic packaging products and custom film solutions, while KHPI is a plastic film manufacturer.

Both companies are based in Malaysia.

The acquisition will expand Scientex’s presence in the flexible plastic packaging market.
