Mondi and Polish supermarket chain Biedronka have launched Recyklobox, a corrugated board container designed to streamline the collection of returnable packaging under the national deposit system.
This addresses the urgent demand for flexible and rapidly deployable solutions in modern retail environments.

Engineered from durable five-layer corrugated board, the Recyklobox features a lower collection compartment, a specialised lid for bottle insertion, and a custom fitting for scanner installations.
The product contains 80% recycled paper and 20% fresh fibre.
The system is designed for full reprocessing at the end of its lifecycle, significantly reducing its overall environmental footprint.
Mondi emphasised that the primary advantages of the solution are its simplicity and ease of implementation, allowing swift rollout across various retail sites.
This initiative has enabled Biedronka to collect more than 29 million returnable bottles by the end of last month.
By deploying these units ahead of the installation of automated reverse vending machines, the retailer ensured early readiness and operational continuity before the full system implementation.
Mondi national key account manager Mateusz Buchowiecki said: “At Mondi, we aim to develop solutions that go beyond packaging and support the evolving needs of modern retail. Recyklobox combines functionality, sustainability and rapid implementation.”
The introduction of Recyklobox builds on the long-standing partnership between the two companies such as their joint closed-loop programme to advance sustainable retail models in Poland.
In 2025, Mondi reported a profit before tax of €269m ($316.9m), representing a 29% decrease from the prior year, despite a 3% increase in revenue.
