Mondi, a sustainable packaging and paper company, has announced the expansion of its re/cycle MailerBAG production capacity at its Krapkowice plant in Poland to cater to the increasing demand for sustainable e-commerce packaging solutions.
The newly installed production line enhances the output of MailerBAGs, which are designed to meet the diverse size and protection requirements of e-commerce customers.
The expansion follows Mondi’s previous enhancement of the Krapkowice production line, which was announced in 2024.
MailerBAGs are patented paper bags offering cost-effectiveness and enhanced customer experience, according to the company.
The MailerBAG portfolio, part of Mondi’s range of paper-based e-commerce products, now includes four different formats: Bottom Gusset Bag, Side Gusset Bag, Block Bottom Bag, and Protective Mailer.
Each MailerBAG format is tailored for specific types of goods, ranging from small to bulky items, and includes protective features for cushioning.
These bags are recyclable in conventional paper waste streams throughout Europe, aligning with Mondi’s MAP2030 sustainability goals and the push for circular packaging solutions.
Mondi eCommerce international key account manager Sebastian Frank said: “Mondi is committed to leading the way in sustainable packaging for e-commerce. By expanding our e-commerce portfolio and increasing production capacity, we’re ensuring that we can continue to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers, whether it be a box, paper bag or paper fill form seal solution, all while contributing to a better world.”
Earlier this month, the company reported improved performance from its newly installed paper machine at the Štětí mill in the Czech Republic.
