NatureSweet, largest US-based grower of greenhouse tomatoes, has partnered with Direct Pack to introduce a new packaging for its cherry tomatoes.
According to the company, the new package is sustainable and offers enhanced product visibility, better protection during shipment and retail handling, improved merchandising and an extended shelf life.
The packaging, which is expected to improve the functionality compared to the red-mesh bags currently used, is expected to hit store shelves in early October 2011.
