PET Bottle

Nestlé Waters Canada has unveiled a new 1l polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle for the company’s San Pellegrino sparkling natural mineral water.

The packaging retains the freshness of the water, while preserving the naturally carbonated bubbles. The internal surface of the bottle has been coated with a silica dioxide film in order to control carbonation loss.

Recyclable San Pellegrino packaging now includes a 250ml aluminium bottle, a 330ml glass bottle, a 500ml PET bottle, a 750ml glass bottle and the new 1l PET bottle.

Nestlé Waters Canada international brands marketing manager Jennifer Semley-Robert said that the new bottles have been developed for at-home and on-the-go consumption.

"The PET version has been specially researched, created in the same Vichy shape of the glass to ensure that the effervescence and perfectly sized bubbles of San Pellegrino’s unique style and personality would be immediately recognisable," Semley-Robert added.

Nestlé Waters Canada operates bottling facilities in Hope, British Columbia and Puslinch, and distribution facilities in British Columbia, Puslinch and Quebec.

San Pellegrino sparkling natural mineral water is offered in four sugar-free, zero-calorie flavours: lemon, lime, pink grapefruit and original. The new one litre PET bottle is available at retailers, convenience stores and restaurateurs across Canada.
