Golden West Packaging Group has bought four independent packaging companies based in Northern California, US, along with their co-owned captive sheet feeder Cal Sheets, for an undisclosed value.
Under the transaction, the company acquired Heritage Solutions, Capital Corrugated, PackageOne and Packaging Innovators Corporation.
The acquisition is expected to create a West Coast mill-independent system that will provide custom packaging solutions to multiple industries, including the wine, food, produce and e-commerce sectors.
Golden West Packaging CEO Steve Strickland said: “These transactions give Golden West Packaging annual revenue of more than $250m generated from a portfolio of well-invested assets that includes $35m in advanced equipment upgrades over the last three years.
“The companies we have acquired are dedicated to delivering high-quality packaging solutions to their customers.”
The combined company will focus on providing custom packaging, folding cartons and displays.
With improved production capabilities, it will also provide value-added converting, flexographic printing and lithographic lamination, storage, fulfilment and distribution, and equipment design and build services.
As a representative of the acquired businesses, Capital Corrugated & Carton president Dennis Watson said: “Our customers view excellent packaging as a competitive advantage. They see us as partners who are uniquely qualified to assist in their success.
“The Golden West Packaging leaders understand this. Their extensive industry experience and substantial resources will enable us to continue to drive growth organically and via strategic investment.”
Established in this year, Golden West Packaging was created by Lindsay Goldberg to make investments in the packaging industry.
