US flexible packaging manufacturer ProAmpac has completed the acquisition of Wisconsin-based PolyFirst Packaging.
Polyfirst focuses on the production of printed and customised roll stock, as well as multiple types of plastic pouches and bags.
Established in 1999, PolyFirst Packaging was initially known as Advanced Bag.
The acquisition, completed at an undisclosed amount, is expected to strengthen ProAmpac’s existing flexible packaging product portfolio.
PolyFirst Packaging will now operate as a part of the US Flexibles Division, while the company’s former CEO Steve Randazzo will lead operations at both PolyFirst facilities at Hartford in Wisconsin and Aurora in Illinois.
ProAmpac CEO Greg Tucker said: “The acquisition of PolyFirst provides us with cold-seal capabilities and several new bag and pouch formats.
“Combined with our manufacturing expertise and award-winning printing assets, our customers will benefit from a more comprehensive service and product offering.”
Cincinnati-based ProAmpac is owned by Pritzker Group Private Capital along with management and co-investors.
The acquisition of PolyFirst Packaging increases ProAmpac’s total number of manufacturing sites to 25 with 3,200 employees.
Pritzker Group Private Capital investment partner Michael Nelson said: “PolyFirst is a strategic acquisition that expands ProAmpac’s already robust product offering.
“We will continue to support ProAmpac with acquisitions that add value for their customers and support their growth initiatives in strategic markets.”
ProAmpac develops products for food, pet care, healthcare and retail markets catering to more than 5,000 customers located across 90 countries.
