Nuuvera breaks ground on new packaging facility in Germany

Nuuvera’s wholly owned subsidiary Nuuvera Deutschland has started construction of a new storage and packaging facility for medical cannabis products.

Nuuvera’s wholly owned subsidiary Nuuvera Deutschland has started construction of a new storage and packaging facility for medical cannabis products.

The development comes after Nuuvera recently bought a 11,300ft² property in Bad Bramstedt, northern Germany, to build a vault storage system equipped with security and related technology for the storage of controlled substances in Germany and the EU.

The new facility is expected to enable the company to strengthen its position as a medical cannabis product supplier to German consumers.

“With a market of 82 million people, Germany represents a key growth opportunity in this emerging and rapidly growing global business.”

Nuuvera CEO Lorne Abony said: “It is a critical element of our on-the-ground operations in Germany and throughout Europe.

To be built in two phases, the facility is expected to have the storage system built and completed in the first phase, with operations set to begin in the second quarter of this year.

In addition to storage capabilities, the second phase of the facility is expected to contain a packaging and processing plant.

The additional features will allow Nuuvera to prepare bulk material shipped from Canada to Germany.

Nuuvera Germany managing director Hendrik Knopp said: “We are very well-placed to immediately respond to market demand, while ensuring premium quality throughout the cultivation, processing, import, packaging, and shipment to pharmacies.”

The company intends to operate the facility as a hub for German and European supply and distribution.
