Branded consumer goods supplier Orkla Foods Norway has selected Danish plastic packaging company RPC's new pack for its Denja range that comprises beans, chicken, shrimps and beetroot.
The new lightweight pack solution has been developed by RPC Superfos and plastic products firm RPC Promens by using two different technologies and resin materials, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polypropylene (PP).
The product is labelled with high-gloss colour labels on the pot as well as the lid, which is designed to easily stack the packs in the shelves.
The thermoformed twist cup with an injection-moulded screw lid allows the consumers to easily open and close the salad pack by simply twisting and turning the lid.
The pack design has been awarded a ScanStar 2016 prize in the Nordic packaging competition.
Orkla Foods Norway packaging developer Kjersti Trömborg said: "We are pleased with the recognition that comes with the Nordic packaging prize.
"RPC Superfos and RPC Promens have done a really good job designing and developing the new pack in close cooperation with us and fully deserve the accolade."
The award ceremony will take place on 3 November this year in Norway.
ScanStar jury members said: "The thermoformed packaging opens up for new shapes and design advantages.
"The packaging is stackable and easily opened, and it will work well in the shop shelves and in the customers' homes. Good presentation and easy to open. Mechanically good."
