ProAmpac has commercialised ProActive Intelligence Moisture Protect MP-1000, a packaging film developed with Ozzi for stick-pack formats used in sensitive powdered products.
The patent-pending film is intended to address moisture-related deterioration in food, health and wellness products.

The Moisture Protect range uses Aptar CSP Technologies’ 3-Phase Activ-Polymer technology.
ProAmpac said the MP-1000 films absorb remaining moisture in the package headspace, removing the need for standard desiccant packets while preserving barrier properties.
Ozzi worked with ProAmpac to address taste and odour problems linked to excess moisture inside stick packs.
ProAmpac highlighted that existing packaging did not keep the interior dry enough, affecting product quality and shortening shelf life.
Ozzi founder Brandon Kuipers said: “MP-1000 allowed us to solve a critical product performance issue while simplifying our packaging system.
“By removing residual moisture at the source, we were able to protect flavour without compromising efficiency or adding complexity to our operation.”
According to ProAmpac, the use of MP-1000 improved results by removing moisture from inside the pack, helping to preserve flavour, limit unwanted odours and support product quality.
The film can be used on existing packaging lines and provides adjustable moisture protection without extra operational steps.
ProAmpac said removing loose desiccants can reduce waste and extend shelf life in moisture-sensitive uses across food, health and wellness categories.
ProAmpac product development vice-president Bob Flaherty said: “Moisture Protect MP-1000 demonstrates how active packaging can move beyond protection to actively enable product performance.
“Our collaboration with Ozzi shows what’s possible when material science is aligned with real-world product challenges-delivering better outcomes for brands and consumers alike.”
In April, ProAmpac expanded its pet food packaging portfolio, covering dry kibble, treats, and freeze-dried products.
The additions include QUADFLEX LFQ, a quad-seal pouch for medium- and heavier-weight pet food applications, including kibble packs of up to 40lb.
