The boxes require up to 70% less storage and shipping space than conventional pre-assembled rigid boxes, the company noted.
They retain the magnetic opening-and-closing format used in rigid gift boxes.
The boxes can be kept in flat-packed stacks and assembled as orders move through the packing process.
Depending on the construction, pre-scored panels and pre-applied corner fasteners enable packers to raise the sidewalls, secure the box, position the custom inserts, and close the magnetic flap without using a box-forming machine.
This arrangement reduces the space occupied by empty boxes at packing stations and allows stocks to be replenished without storing large quantities of assembled packaging.
One retail skincare brand replaced conventional pre-assembled rigid boxes with PACKSHION’s foldable custom luxury gift boxes.
The change reduced packaging inventory space by 60% and outbound international freight costs by 20%.
Packaging-related positive feedback in reviews of the skincare products also rose by 15%.
Precision die-cut inserts are used to hold products in position inside the box.
This allows the internal layout to be adjusted for different items and can reduce unused space in e-commerce shipping configurations.
Available materials include FSC-certified paperboard, high PCR recycled corrugated fibreboard, and 100% recycled kraft paper.
Other material options include bio-based, plastic-free barrier coatings with moisture-proof and oil-resistant properties, water-based coatings, and plant-based inks.
The company’s factory uses German Heidelberg high-precision four-colour offset printing machines.
