Flexible packaging firm ProAmpac has acquired Gateway Packaging Company, a US-based pet food packaging manufacturer and technical products company.
Gateway’s product portfolio includes multi-wall bags, stand-up pouches, quad-seal bags, box pouches, roll stock, treat bags and hybrid bags. The company also sells products to the personal care and institutional markets.
ProAmpac CEO Greg Tucker said: “The acquisition of Gateway expands our product offering with the addition of multi-wall bags while also increasing our manufacturing capacity of several pouch formats. Gateway will allow us to deliver even more value and services to our customers.”
Owned by PPC Partners, ProAmpac manufactures flexible packaging for various consumer, retail and industrial goods markets. The company offers secure packaging for the transport of cash and valuables.
Following the acquisition, the company will employ around 3,700 people and operate 33 sites globally.
ProAmpac will also integrate Gateway into its Extrusion and Laminations division.
ProAmpac Extrusion and Laminations division president Tom Loewald said: “Gateway has a reputation for innovation, responsive customer service and quality. Couple that with our industry-leading converting expertise, and customers now have an unrivalled source for flexible packaging products within ProAmpac.”
The company acquired pouch converting specialist Pactech Packaging last month.
Gateway Packaging Company president and CEO Omar Abuaita said: “Gateway’s talented team, multi-wall bag converting expertise and presence in pet and institutional markets will add to ProAmpac’s competencies and existing customer base.”
