Flexible packaging and material sciences company ProAmpac has revealed plans to showcase its latest sustainable packaging advancements at Packaging Innovations 2024, to be held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, England, UK on 21-22 February.  

The company’s new range of sustainable products includes RecycAll, RAP’s all-fibre food-to-go solution, which has been successfully tested for sandwich wedges and is now being adopted by retailers in the UK and EU.  

The RecycAll line has been expanded to encompass food trays and grab bags, catering to high-end sandwiches and bakery items. 

ProAmpac will also unveil ProActive Recyclable FibreSculpt, a high-barrier fibre-based solution suitable for shallow-draw thermoforming tray applications.  

This product has more than 90% fibre content and is kerbside recyclable in the UK and Ireland, complying with the on-pack recycling labels guidelines. 

The Recycle Ready Retort RT-4000 solution, an ultra-high barrier polypropylene-based platform, will also be featured.

The packaging is available as reel stock or premade pouches, including stand-up and three-side seal options, the company said. 

In addition, ProAmpac will introduce ProActive Intelligence Moisture Protect MP-1000, an advanced, moisture-adsorbing technology that eliminates the need for desiccant packets.  

Utilising Aptar’s CSP Technologies’ 3-Phase Activ-Polymer technology, MP-1000 reduces the moisture level in the packaging headspace. 

The packaging is suitable for products requiring stringent moisture management such as live culture probiotics, point-of-care diagnostic kits, and hygroscopic powdery food products.

ProAmpac will also present its entire ProActive Sustainability product portfolio and comprehensive RAP Packaging line of fibre-based food-to-go solutions at the event.
