It also has packaging operations in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The 100,000ft² Salt Lake City factory is expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The site has access to key interstate highways, which the company said will support fast distribution to major markets across the region.
The new factory will start with existing customer volume and capacity commitments from brands based in the western US.
It will offer end-to-end packaging services and will be equipped with a Heidelberg XL 106 press with UV capabilities, a sheeter, die cutters and folding gluers.
Quad chairman and CEO Joel Quadracci said: “This is an important milestone for Quad’s packaging offering. By rounding out a national manufacturing footprint for packaging, Quad is making it easier for clients to reduce lead times, improve logistics efficiency and scale packaging programmes across multiple regions while maintaining the quality, consistency and partnership they expect from us.
Quadracci described the expansion as a “clear example of Quad’s long-term strategy to grow in high-value, fast-growing categories like packaging”.
He added: “Expanding west and adding capacity across our US network strengthens our ability to meet client demand while building on the momentum of our packaging business.”
Quad packaging division president Tim Ohnmacht said: “By establishing a presence in Salt Lake City, we’re closer to brands in high-growth markets like food and beverage and health and wellness, creating new opportunities to continue growing our packaging business.”
