US-based sustainable packaging provider Ranpak has bought Dutch sustainable cool pack manufacturer Recycold Cool Solutions for an undisclosed amount.
Recycold specialises in developing advanced packaging products for the food, fresh ingredients and pharmaceutical sectors.

The company’s Cool Packs are made from drain-safe, plant-based gel and will add to Ranpak’s portfolio of cold chain packaging offerings.
Following the acquisition, both companies’ customers will be able to order their entire solution from a single source.

Ranpak will integrate Recycold’s manufacturing operations into Ranpak’s new facility in the Netherlands, which is scheduled to open by the end of next year.
Ranpak and Recycold have worked in partnership with each other for the past several years.
The acquisition will allow the companies to work more closely on product developments in the future, with the aim of offering customers a ‘superior’ unboxing experience.
Based in Concord Township, Ohio, Ranpak provides sustainable, paper-based packaging solutions for e-commerce and industrial supply chains.
Earlier this year, the company launched the PadPak Auto-Coiler, a paper-based heavy cushioning solution, in North America.
