US-based Revere Packaging Holdings has purchased custom trays and container manufacturer Plastic Package for an undisclosed sum.

To be headquartered in Shelbyville, Kentucky, US, the newly combined company is expected to serve the current and future food packaging industry.

Plastic Package serves the bakery, confectionery, pre-packaged meals and school nutrition markets.

"The newly combined entity will more than double the size of sales, employees and manufacturing capacity."

The combined entity will operate from other locations such as Hawaii, California and Indiana.

Revere Packaging CEO David Watts said: “With more than 150 employees and over $40m in annual revenues, the newly combined entity will more than double the size of sales, employees and manufacturing capacity.

“This will translate to shorter lead times, faster delivery, and the availability of a broader product mix for our customers.”

Revere Packaging provides recycled plastic and aluminium food packaging solutions.

Established in 1801, the firm is certified in food safety by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI).
