Earlier in September, the company announced plans to invest £68m over the next three years to build a new beverage can plant in Mantsala, Finland. The two lines of the plant are expected to be operational by 2013 and 2014 respectively with an output capacity of 1.35 billion 330ml and 500ml aluminium cans.

Rexam’s first-half of 2011 underlying operating profit rose by 5% to £280m, and profit increased by 29% mainly due to the improved volumes in standard cans in Europe, as well as in specialty cans in all regions.

The company’s one-stop supplier approach to dispensing solutions helps shorten supply chains, reduce time-to-market, improve shelf appeal and an increased return on investment.
