Plastic packaging supplier RPC Promens Consumer Nordics has expanded its product suite with the addition of a biopolymer bottle for milk.
The 1l Modul bottle has been made from a non-oil based biopolymer produced from sugar cane.
RPC Promens Consumer Nordics senior sales manager Jan Weier said: "According to Euromonitor one of the top ten global trends in 2016 is greener food.
"Certainly there has been strong growth in organic food products in recent years and this has now led to more attention being paid to how they are packed.
"By using this new material, we can offer our customers a renewable and sustainable solution."
The Swedish dairy company Skånemejerier has selected the new bottle for its range of non-homogenised milk.

By GlobalDataSkånemejerier strategic purchaser Thore Bengtsson said: "The new bottle from RPC Promens is ideal for our milk.
"We have an excellent working relationship with the company and their ability to handle the tight deadlines for this project was particularly beneficial."
The company is currently mixing the polymer with a mineral filler to reduce the material required for the bottle, while maintaining its strength.
Last year, it launched a 750ml barrier PET bottle for flavoured syrups for cold drinks.
