The companies highlighted the sustainability of the kraft paper, as a peer-reviewed independent life cycle assessment indicated 62% lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to virgin plastic stretch film and 49% lower emissions than plastic film with 50% recycled content.
This transition aligns with Sentrex’s commitment to sustainable operations, contributing to a more efficient wrapping process and streamlined logistics.
Efficiency boost through automation
Sentrex’s adoption of Mondi’s kraft paper solution, coupled with EW Technology’s automated machinery, is claimed to have led to a significant increase in efficiency.
Unlike the traditional process involving a drying period for paper bags before plastic wrapping, Advantage StretchWrap’s breathability allows for immediate wrapping after production, streamlining operations.

Michał Nogielski, technical director at Sentrex, expressed satisfaction with the quick adaptation process.
“The teamwork between ourselves, Mondi and EW Technology meant that the whole adaptation process was swift, and the new wrapping machines and reels are running so successfully that we are delighted to recommend this to our own customers, for instance for pallet wrapping dry food products such as flour and sugar.”
Jan Murzyn, business development manager at Mondi, highlighted the broader implications of this collaboration: “This change means that Sentrex can wrap their products in more sustainable packaging, work towards a more circular system and make a positive contribution to the environment.
“Additionally, the packaging sequence is more efficient due to the possibility of wrapping the pallet immediately after production, without the need for seasoning the paper bags.”
