France-based production equipment manufacturer Sidel’s two new line solutions for Lithuanian bottler Birštono Mineraliniai Vandenys (BMV) have contributed to lightening the bottles by up to 30% in less than two years.
The company’s product-differentiating PET bottle shapes have been credited with the latest achievement.

Its complete line solution includes a Sidel Combi 8 FMc, a cap air rinser, and UV lamps on the infeed rail of the preform feeding rail.
The solution also features a Sidel Rollquattro Evolution labeller, a cap feeder for sport and flat caps, handle applicators, bottle and pack conveyors, and a palletiser.
BMV CEO Norbertas Pranckus said: "We were really satisfied with the performance achieved by the first Sidel Combi – a Sidel Combi FMc – in terms of production safety and efficiency.
"We had no doubts when considering enlarging our production volume again: the Sidel Combi was the obvious choice.

Offering approximately 4% higher efficiency levels than standalone machines, the Combi solution incorporates a magnetic flow meter that ensures an accurate filling volume.
