Beverage packaging specialist Sidel has supplied a new PET line to Saudi Arabia-based bottled water supplier Health Water Bottling Company (HWB).
The PET line is equipped with two Sidel Matrix Combis, by integrating blow-fill-cap in one enclosure.
Sidel Matrix Combi is not restricted by air conveyors because of the neck-handling and transfer of bottles between blow moulding and filling.
By employing the new line, HWB is expected to produce PET water bottles in 330ml and 600ml formats at a speed of 134,000 bottles per hour by February 2015.
HWB, which offers water under the Nova brand name, also employs Sidel’s standalone equipment, ranging from blowing machines to fillers.
The recent installation is in line with HWB’s strategy to cater to increasing consumer demand for bottled water in the country.

By GlobalDataSidel Saudi Arabia regional commercial manager Nicola Barusi said: "Given the large increase in demand for bottled water in Saudi Arabia, there is now a huge opportunity for water providers in the area and we believe that HWB has definitely made a good choice by selecting the Sidel Matrix Combi, which will offer great production efficiency and potential bottle lightweighting possibilities."
The off-trade sales volume of bottled water in Saudi Arabia increased by 52.4% during the period between 2007 and 2012, growing from 1,063 to 1,620 million litres.
