Siegwerk has introduced COLORWERK FastMatch Cloud, a cloud-based colour management platform created with X-Rite Pantone.

The system combines ink formulation, colour adjustment and quality control in a single set-up for printers and converters working across different presses, sites and production methods.

Within Siegwerk’s wider COLORWERK programme, the platform offers central management of colour data and standardised ink recipes through a secure cloud database accessible through a web browser.

The system can handle ink formulations for different applications, customer-specific tolerances and chosen colourant assortments, with the objective of supporting uniform colour reproduction across the packaging supply chain.

It also connects with X-Rite Pantone tools, including PantoneLIVE, so that digital colour libraries and industry standards remain current.

Siegwerk said the platform can generate formula calculations in less than 20 seconds, which it described as a 50% improvement on earlier systems.

The built-in quality control functions are designed to help converters improve first-time colour matching while reducing ink use and press stoppages, as well as limiting waste.

Siegwerk global senior expert colour management Kiran Deshpande said: “With FastMatch Cloud, we transform how colour data is managed in packaging printing.

“By combining Siegwerk’s formulation expertise with X‑Rite Pantone’s colour science and cloud technology, we enable customers to work with reliable, standardised colour data anytime and anywhere. Another key feature of FastMatch Cloud is its ability to use press-returned ink in new matches or batches, minimising aged ink inventory, which reduces cost and space.”
