Turkish container glass manufacturing company Şişecam Glass Packaging is set to install XPAR Vision’s infrared gobweight control (IGC) systems in its three facilities in Yenisehir, Eskisehir and Mersin.
The installation of the new XPAR Vision IGC systems at the blow-blow production lines will enable Şişecam to extend the control over the forming process by automatic closed loop control of the weight of the gobs.
Şişecam Glass Packaging group production vice-president Mustafa Çetiner said: “The hot end systems from XPAR Vision help us to increase our performance in terms of quality and output.
“The technology allow our operators and specialists to continuously reduce the variations in the forming process.”
The new XPAR Vision Hot End systems allow the operator to facilitate manufacturing operations and use the benefits of the automated closed loop to regulate the production of stable weight bottles, with an accuracy of less than 0.3% of the bottle weight.
Eskisehir plant production manager Cengizhan Göçer said: “We have installed XPAR Vision IGC systems for gob weight control in several blow-blow production lines and we are appreciated to their performance.
“For our most important customers, we decided to install more automatic control systems to increase the stability and repeatability of the bottle forming process.”
Based in the Netherlands, XPAR Vision is a spinoff from the University of Groningen and focuses on providing advanced sensor technology to the global glass container industry.
The company’s portfolio of technologies includes multiple solutions, including the InfraRed Dual camera system, the Infrared Gob weight Control system, Gob Assist, BoX and the Blankside Temperature Control system.
