“The Thermo Bag is bringing competitive advantage to producers and enhanced quality to consumers.”

The Thermo Bag has been designed to adhere to the specifications of a hot filling processing method involving pressing, filtering, pasteurising, heating and filling the product at a high temperature to enable sterilisation.

The product is then immediately cooled for preservation and taste.

The benefits of this method, which is widely used in the production of fresh apple juice, include shelf life extension, elimination of harmful microorganisms, and cost reduction.

According to Smurfit, consumers and producers prefer Bag-in-Box packaging because it is an eco-friendly and cost-efficient option, which maintains the product’s quality.
