Global diversified company TASI Group has strengthened its Packaging Integrity segment with the acquisition of metal detection and X-ray inspection systems supplier Cassel Messtechnik.

Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Based in Hannover, Germany, Cassel specialises in manufacturing testing equipment used for maintaining quality and ensuring the safety of consumer goods.

Finalised on 31 January 2020, the acquisition will enable TASI’s Packaging Integrity segment to expand its product inspection and packaging integrity globally. Cassel has over 60 employees.

The acquisition is also part of the company’s strategy to add related technologies to build its segment, which includes ALPS Inspection, Sepha and Bonfiglioli Engineering.

TASI Packaging Integrity president Kris Fairfield said: “As our customers are at the centre of everything we do, I am inspired by the expanded solutions we’ll provide that enable our customers to provide the best quality product to their end-users.
