
Packaging materials manufacturer Tekni-Plex has completed the acquisition of Belgium-based extruder and converter of polyethylene (PE) film Beyers Plastics from investment company Famo.
Established in 1970, Beyers Plastics provides flexible packaging solutions to pharmaceutical companies and other blue-chip companies in various industries.
Under the terms of the deal, Beyers will now join Tekni-Plex’s Tekni-Films business unit, which produces PE packaging for various industries such as pharmaceutical, medical, food and chemicals.
Tekni-Films global senior vice-president and general manager Joe Horn said: “The acquisition of Beyers Plastics allows us to expand our portfolio of cleanroom-produced pharmaceutical and medical flexible packaging products.
“For the first time, we will have bag-converting capability, as well as PE-blown film extrusion. The acquisition supports our goal of expanding our offerings in the pharmaceutical and healthcare space.”
In the past four years, Tekni-Plex has completed the acquisition of ten companies that offer plastic and rubber products, including Beyers Plastics, to further drive its growth.

Headquartered in Wayne, Pennsylvania, US, Tekni-Plex develops and manufactures packaging materials, medical compounds and medical tubing solutions for various industries. It currently operates manufacturing sites across eight countries globally.
