Tekni-Plex, a packaging materials, medical compounds and precision-crafted medical tubing solutions manufacturer, has acquired two businesses in Bloomfield, New York, US, in order to expand its food processor tray portfolio and manufacturing capability.
The acquired businesses are sister companies Commodore Plastics and Commodore Technology.

Commodore Technology produces PS foam extrusion systems, dies, thermoformers, trim systems and other moulds and equipment for its sister company and other manufacturers outside North America.
The newly acquired companies will operate under Tekni-Plex’s affiliate Dolco Packaging, which produces foam egg carton trays in the US.
Tekni-Plex president and CEO Paul Young said: “Tekni-Plex already has significant tray manufacturing capability via its Dolco business unit.
