Food packaging solution supplier tna has completed acquiring labeling equipment manufacturer Unique Solutions in order to expand its business portfolio.
Financial details about the transaction has, however, not been disclosed.
The deal offers tna access to Unique Solutions' In-Pak and On-Pak programmes, which is based on the firm's continuous perforated bandolier (CPB) technology.
The acquisition is in line with tna's strategy to expand its offerings in order to serve food manufacturers with a full range of packaging and processing solutions from a single source.
tna CEO Alf Taylor said: "The food industry changes at such a rapid pace, and product innovation is an absolute must if you want to stay competitive.
"We were therefore keen to expand our services in the promotional and value-add packaging arena. These solutions can add immense value to manufacturers, from eye-catching labels and coupons to seasoning sachets and toys, the possibilities are limitless."
US-based Unique Solutions supplies internationally patented, continuous-feed systems and labeling equipment, which can be integrated into any type of production line, including performance, vertical or horizontal form fill-and-seal applications, as well as cartoning, flow-wrapping and conveying lines.
The CPB technology allows the equipment to insert two-dimensional items, including coupons, magnets, and tattoos, and three-dimensional items including toys, scoops and dry or liquid-filled sachets, into primary packaging at speeds of up to 1,000 pieces every minute.
High-speed inserting and labeling equipment manufactured by Unique Solutions are claimed to deliver an accuracy level of 99.9%.
Unique Solutions CEO Joyce Witt said: "After working with tna for many years, becoming part of the company was very easy; it was a natural progression. Especially after realising that together, we can bring Unique Solutions to more people in more places.
"As tna continues to grow, we look forward to being part of their success."
