Toray Plastics (America) is set to unveil its new Torayfan OPP and Lumirror polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film technologies at the upcoming Pack Expo International 2016.
The event will be held in November at McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois, US.
During the event, the company will showcase Torayfan CBS2, a PVdC-free oxygen and moisture-barrier BOPP film that can be used as the inside sealant web for snacks, cookies, crackers, granola, fruit / nut mixes, and confections.
Furthermore, the company’s LumiLid portfolio of lidding films will be exhibited at the event.
The films are available in metallised and bio-based formats for trays, including PP, APET, CPET, and can be used for refrigerated and frozen items, side dishes, dairy items, fresh and dried foods.
The Torayfan Over-the-Mountain portfolio of biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films have been developed to prevent packages from bursting when they are shipped through adverse conditions.
Toray Plastics (America) has also developed a new polyester metal-transfer film, Lumirror MR20, for commercial goods.
The company’s Torayfan metallised white cavitated and BOPP films, known as MWX6 and MWL, are designed for use in salty crisp snacks, baked goods, confectionery items, and pet food packaging.
Lumirror QN497, which is a gas-barrier metallised PET film, can be used as an inner layer for laminate film and gas-flushed applications, such as coffee packaging.
Toray Plastics (America) also plans to showcase various other solutions, which include Torayfan TreaTear DR72, Lumirror QN506 gas-barrier transparent PET, Torayfan RS03 OPP RipStop, Barrialox SBR2 aluminium oxide-coated polyester, and Toray HP Indigo pack ready films.
The company will also provide updates about its participation in the HP Indigo Pack Ready programme.
