US-based handcrafted beer provider Tupps Brewery has deployed the G1 applicator from multi-packing solutions firm WaveGrip in a move to streamline its can manufacturing process.
The company will also use the G1 applicator as a sustainable solution to produce its beer cans.

The G1 applicator can offer a maximum speed of 100 cans-per-minute (cpm), allowing the brewery to improve its manufacturing process to run the can production at a level of 45cpm to 50cpm.
Tupps Brewery founder and president Keith Lewis said: “Having an environmentally friendly carrier was a huge factor in our decision-making process.
“We were really happy with the sustainability of the WaveGrip solution and its environmental story is important to both us and our customers.”
WaveGrip introduced a new automatic version of the G1 applicator with a focus on low-volume beverage manufacturers.

By GlobalDataDeveloped using the same quality and standards of the larger G2 and G3 applicators, the new system can create multi-packs of four, six or eight cans, with automatic pack separation.
According to the packaging company, the G1 applicator can produce cans with a weight of less than 4g for a standard six-pack.
The company also noted that its carriers are 100% recyclable and meet current US packaging regulations.
WaveGrip managing director Aaron McIvor said: “We’re glad brewers are recognising the environmental impact of packaging and are choosing WaveGrip for their can multi-packing due to its efficiencies and sustainability.
“The combination of both these benefits is really delivering for breweries and enables them to maximise their production output with a reduced environmental impact.”
Tupps Brewery offers a wide range of beers such as American Wheat, smooth Pale Ales, and Imperial Stout.
Based in McKinney, Texas, the brewery currently offers its beers in cans and kegs across North Texas, Austin, San Antonio, and Oklahoma.
