India-based flexible packaging materials and solution provider Uflex has introduced its new aseptic liquid packaging brand, Asepto, with an aim to provide specialised filling solutions and comprehensive packaging to pack liquid products.

Capable of increasing the shelf-life of products, aseptic packaging helps brands to reduce dependency on cold chains.

The company is also planning to commission its aseptic liquid packaging manufacturing plant by April this year at Sanand, Gujarat, India.

Designed to be a zero discharge plant, the new aseptic packaging plant will be completed with an investment of INR580cr ($85m) and will employ around 250 people.

Uflex new business initiatives president and CEO Ashwani Sharma said: “Aseptic Packaging market in India is majorly classified into three segments i.e. juices, dairy products and liquor.

“Packaging of flavoured milk, other dairy items and liquor in Aseptic packaging material will play a key role in propelling the growth of aseptic packaging in the coming years both in India and overseas.
