UK-based Endoline Machinery has designed the 0204 case sealer, a new high-speed sealing solution for packaging applications.

The development follows a request from a Brazilian textile and retail clothing company, which required a case sealer that can handle randomly sized 0204 cases with overlapping inner flaps for extra product security.

The new sealing system has a custom case size detection system with various sensors to identify the size of the boxes passing through the sealer. 

Endoline Machinery sales director Andrew Yates said: “Not many companies use type 0204 cases because they are very difficult to automate.

“While the double layer offers added protection and overcomes any plastic covering ‘seeping’ out of the gaps, sealing these cases at high speed can cause challenges due to the fact that two flaps need to be folded on top of each other.”

The case sealer has a folding head with a hook that ensures the correct position of all case flaps before sealing.

The Brazilian clothing company has more than 850 stores throughout Latin America, and exports its range of clothing brands worldwide.

Endoline Machinery manufactures end-of-line packaging systems, and has recently co-developed a new case sealer that includes complete packing lines.
