US-based packaging provider Georgia-Pacific Corrugated has acquired Reliable Container in South California for an undisclosed amount.
Reliable Container designs and manufactures corrugated containers, point-of-purchase displays, and foam-protective packaging products.
Georgia-Pacific aims to expand its corrugated packaging business through the deal, which includes the acquisition of Reliable Container’s converting plants in Santa Fe Springs, California, and Tijuana, Mexico.
Georgia-Pacific Corrugated president Billy Medof said: "Georgia-Pacific has had a working relationship with Reliable Container for many years and now welcomes them as part of our organisation, expanding our capability and geographic reach in the important Southern California and Baja region.
"This acquisition further demonstrates our commitment to build our customers’ brands, improve their operations and optimise their packaging.
"With this acquisition and following the conversion of our La Mirada sheet feeder to a state-of-the-art box plant, we will serve customers in Southern California and Northern Mexico with a box plant, two sheet plants, and through our interest in the GoldenCorr sheet feeder."
