US-based Marrs Printing and Packaging has successfully completed Eagle Systems’ Eagle cold foil certification course (ECFC) at its production facility.

The eight-hour long programme helps to improve the understanding and techniques of press operators and employees at executive management level.

The programme also allows the Eagle cold foil user to obtain higher quality and a greater return on investment (ROI).

"Installing our Eagle system provided the answer to those needs by delivering faster turnaround, reduced costs, and an environmentally-friendly solution."

Marrs Printing and Packaging vice-president Scott Marrs said: “We first installed an Eco-Eagle cold foil system on our manroland 700 40in six-colour UV-equipped press in April 2012.

“The year celebrated our 40th anniversary in the printing industry and we were eager to mark the occasion by offering our customers something that no one else could.

“Installing our Eagle system provided the answer to those needs by delivering faster turnaround, reduced costs, and an environmentally-friendly solution.”

Once installed, the company's press system is adapted to maximise performance for each operation’s adhesives, foils and blankets.

The course also eliminates previous process obstacles, including pin-holing and mud cracking, and improves systems' cold foil performance.

Marrs also added: “Four years ago Eagle President Mike King told us his machine would do everything he said it would do or our money back. That was what sealed the deal for us and he was true to his word.

“When Mike approached us earlier this year we were only too eager to hear about their new education programme.

“Cold foil has been a major success for us and this certification programme promises to take our expertise and understanding to a whole new level.”

Established in 1972, Marrs serves printing and packaging providers in Southern California, US.
