US-based packaging solutions provider Massman Automation Designs has completed the acquisition of EDL Packaging Engineers for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition will complement and expand Massman's experience in case packing and end-of-line packaging solutions.
Massman will also continue to operate and expand EDL Packaging Engineers’ presence in Green Bay, Wisconsin, US.
Massman Automation Designs president and CEO Jeff Bigger said: “EDL’s extensive experience in shrink wrapping perfectly complements Massman’s experience in Case Packing and end-of-line packaging solutions. EDL also expands our offering in flexible packaging.
“EDL’s focus on quality, customised solutions and customer service aligns with Massman’s allowing for the combined companies to provide broader and more complete solutions to our customers.”
EDL produces shrink wrappers, bundlers, corrugated tray formers and loaders, roll wrappers, automatic flight bar wrappers, and semi-automatic wrapping equipment for food, pet food, dairy, personal care, carpet and contract packaging sectors.

In March, Massman purchased US-based packaging solution provider Elliott Manufacturing with an aim to expand its case erectors and sealers portfolio.
The case erectors and sealers manufactured by Elliott Manufacturing can seal up to 35 cases per minute as well as top load case packing systems.
