US-based packaging and processing machinery and solutions provider Pro Mach has acquired Canada-based Zarpac for an undisclosed sum.

The deal has led to the formation of a new company, named Pro Mach Integrated Solutions Group.

Pro Mach aims to become an integrated packaging solutions provider and a single-source provider of high-performance packaging lines.

"Consumer packaged goods and pharmaceutical companies large and small are looking for competitive advantages that help them produce and package their products more efficiently."

Zarpac designs and builds packaging line systems, performance diagnostics software and material-handling solutions, as well as carries out robotics testing and integration, mechanical and electrical engineering, project management, technical training and productivity support.

With offices in Canada, the US, and China, Zarpac serves customers across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.

Pro Mach global filler and integrated solutions president Barry Heiser said: “Many of our customers are looking for a full service partner that will help them simplify line development, achieve optimum performance, reduce risks, simplify line control, and better manage costs throughout the design, build, and production lifecycle.

“We’ve taken a significant step in making that a reality for our customers, regardless of their size, location, or machine needs and investment.”

“Consumer packaged goods and pharmaceutical companies large and small are looking for competitive advantages that help them produce and package their products more efficiently with higher quality, less waste, increased profit, and better resolution of issues that impact performance.”

So far, Zarpac has installed its proprietary manufacturing connectivity and diagnostics software on more than 10,000 facilities worldwide.

The solutions allow packaging and processing companies to automatically collect and evaluate comprehensive performance data across their locations.

Zarpac’s robotics services feature pretesting and modelling to ensure optimum cell design and performance.

In February, Pro Mach acquired Stork-Texwrap, a company that manufactures automatic shrink wrapping systems.
