Valmet has been commissioned by Anhui Linping Circular Development to supply a complete containerboard manufacturing line, alongside automation and lifecycle services for its manufacturing base in Xiao County, China.

The project involves the delivery of PM 9, a “high-speed” line designed to produce lightweight fluting and liner grades, highlighted the Finnish company.

The investment is intended to enhance the customer’s “resource efficiency” and reduce environmental impact, it added. Start-up is scheduled for 2028.

Valmet previously installed the PM 8 board making line at the Xiao County site.

Anhui Linping chairman Li Jianshe said: “This investment will strengthen our position in the market while meeting our targets for resource-efficient production. Having successfully collaborated with Valmet on our previous board machine project, we are confident that this full-scope delivery combined with strong project execution and lifecycle support will help us achieve our production and performance targets.”

The scope of delivery covers the entire board machine from the headbox through to the winder.

A layering gap headbox will manage layer structure and sheet formation.

In the press section, a centre roll configuration and closed sheet transfer provide continuous web support through to the dryer section.

The predryer section features a compact geometry paired with runnability systems to reduce the risk of web breaks during high-speed operation, with a winder included to meet capacity requirements and roll specifications.

Valmet will also provide automation solutions to support production efficiency and the mill’s shift toward autonomous operation.

Ongoing lifecycle support includes paper machine clothing, spare parts, and digital services.

The order was booked into Valmet’s orders received for the third quarter of 2026. The financial value of the contract has not been disclosed.

Valmet packaging and paper business area sales manager Veli-Matti Miskala said: “We are pleased to continue our successful cooperation with Anhui Linping Circular Development. This new investment reflects the trust we have built through our long-term partnership and our shared commitment to high production performance.”
